Ciclovía Nocturna – Suaveciclo – Bogotá, Colombia – (2019)

In August 2019, VJ Suave traveled to Colombia to participate in Bogotá’s famous Ciclovía Nocturna, an event that transforms the capital’s streets into a massive path for cyclists and pedestrians. Invited by the Instituto Distrital de Turismo (IDT) as part of the Festival de Verano and the city’s 481st anniversary celebrations, the duo assembled their audiovisual tricycles together with a local bike expert named Pargal Cargo, and rode them alongside thousands of locals.

The performance covered a 6-kilometer circuit starting at the cultural hub of Park Way, passing through Parque Bicentenario and Parque Renacimiento. As they pedaled, VJ Suave projected hand-drawn animations and messages of love and tenderness onto the city’s buildings and trees. The intervention highlighted the bicycle not just as a means of transport, but as a vehicle for artistic expression, turning the night ride into a collective, moving cinema experience.
