In August 2020, during the height of social isolation caused by the pandemic, VJ Suave took their Suaveciclo to the streets of Campinas for the project “Visões Urbanas,” presented by Sesc Campinas. The intervention was designed as a surprise poetic gesture, bringing art directly to the windows of residents who were confined to their homes.
Projecting on the facades of buildings around Largo do Rosário and Centro de Convivência, the duo illuminated the city with works created by local talent. The performance featured animations by the Núcleo de Cinema de Animação de Campinas (including Maurício Squarisi, Wilson Lazaretti, and Eliana Ribeiro) and illustrations by local artists Daniela Galanti, Natália Gregorini, and Rafael Ghiraldelli. It was a mobile exhibition of light and color, offering a moment of collective connection and hope through the safety of the city’s architecture.
