Taitung Light Festival, Tagtool & Suaveciclo – Taiwan (2024台東光祭)

In October 2024, VJ Suave traveled to Taiwan to participate in the 2024 Taitung Light Festival (2024台東光祭). Set against the natural backdrop of the Zhiben Hot Spring area, the festival explored the theme “Natural Light Zone,” inviting artists to blend digital art with the landscape.

During their residency, the duo conducted a Tagtool Workshop with local students, promoting a creative exchange that resulted in the collaborative piece “Space Odyssey and Starry Zoo”. Children were invited to draw and animate their own imaginary cosmic creatures, which were then brought to life by VJ Suave. These animated characters danced across the walls and trees of the hot spring village, transforming the dark skies of Taitung into a vibrant, digital universe populated by the local community’s imagination.
